Google Chrome is the next best thing when it comes to browsing the net. Most frequent internet users already know that IE is bad both in speed and security. Firefox which controls about a quarter of the market is known for being a beast in security. However Firefox is also a resource hog on the computer and crumbles in comparison to Chrome speeds. Chrome is about twice as fast as Firefox even after Firefox's new update increased its speed by 14.5% However many skeptics site security as the main flaw in Chrome. Released in mid 2008 Chrome was reported for having several key flaws in security. However that was one and a half years ago and those flaws have long been fixed. According to this article about a "hacking competition", Google Chrome was the only browser NOT exploited. It seems to me that security issues is a crippled horse argument. But don't take my word for it! Just try it out yourself. And no, Google isn't paying me anything for this.

Posted by David Mesenbrink | 12:54 PM | Bing, google, microsoft, search engine | 0 comments »Many people may be wondering, what is Bing? Bing is one of Microsoft's latest attempts to monopolitise the technology industry. It is a comprehensive search engine filled with many useful features. For example, searching for videos you can watch and hear a preview by simply hovering your mouse over the thumbnail. In a similar way, pictures are easily accessable.
For being so new, Bing has made huge gains on other well known search engines such as Yahoo. While Google still holds the majority in a landslide with around 82%, Bing has pushed its way past hundreds of search engines into third place with about 5% of the global market share.
If you haven't already then you should give Bing a try.

People still not ready for the digital TV switchover
Posted by David Mesenbrink | 8:02 AM | 0 comments »
After postponing the deadline again back in January there are still about 3.3 million people with TV's who don't have converter boxes. In my oppinion, our government has given them MORE than enough time to convert. We should not wait for them any longer. They will switch when necessity arrises.

The sequel to Call of Duty 4 will not carry on the name. The very much anticipated Modern Warfare 2 looks to be no letdown from its predecessor. High quality graphics and very intricate gameplay will make this game a sure hit. Another thing to note is that there will be a coop mode called Special Forces but it is separate from the main campaign. The campaign as it is contains three locations and could take from 6 to 10 hours to complete. The game will be available on Xbox360, PS3, and PC. If one thing is for sure, you will want to get your hands on this fine peice of art when it comes out on November 10.

Facebook Vs Myspace
Posted by David Mesenbrink | 8:54 AM | facebook, myspace, social networking, vs | 0 comments » The classic battle, one which most of us have probably picked sides. Myspace and facebook started near the same time back in the years 2003 and 2004. For the longest time Myspace was by far the dominant brand. Most recently however, facebook has made huge gains on myspace and just recently passed myspace in most global use per month.
When you compare the two they are very different animals. Facebook mantains a clean, organized layout while myspace allows people to modify their pages extensively to fit their own personality. Sometimes that ability backfires when people modify their profile in a way which is terribly messy and hard to sort out. Myspace does however have a strong hold on the music market. When people want to find out about a band they automatically check the band's myspace. In the end there is no better option. Some people will preffer facebook and others myspace. Many such as myself will indulge in both.
